Forecast as of Monday Evening Feb 28 2011

Current Surface Analysis as of 10pm CT
A high pressure system is dominating our weather tonight and it will continue to dominate our weather for Tuesday.   The front that produced the freezing rain/snow here in the Quad Cities and the severe weather in the south yesterday is now pushing through the eastern seaboard into the Carolinas.

Current Surface Temperature and Surface Pressure Analysis as of 10 PM CT

Temperatures will drop into the upper teens to lower 20s overnight as high pressure takes control of our weather.   When the high pressure system pushes further to the east tomorrow our winds will shift out of south bringing warmer air into area allowing our temperatures to climb into the 40s.

Current Weather 10 pm CT

Some weather observations across Western and Northern Illinois are reporting haze and/or fog.  This is due to the clear skies that are present allowing the temperatures to drop to the dew point, which is resulting in the saturation of the air.

The cold front along the eastern seaboard as resulted in 6 tornado reports, 154 wind reports, and 24 reports of hail.  This can be seen below and can be found on www.spc.noaa.gov

NAM Model Run through Wednesday Evening

The NAM model shows high pressure dominating our weather for tomorrow bringing us warmer and drier conditions for Tuesday.  Another weak disturbance tries to move through early Wednesday that will likely only bring us more clouds than any precipitation.  We will remain dry for Wednesday night as well.
